Director of Accounting
Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Director of Accounting to oversee all financial aspects of our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, regulatory reporting, and financial management. As the Director of Accounting, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial data.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of the accounting department, including accounts payable, general ledger accounting, and cash management.
- Oversee regulatory reporting to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Utilize expertise in double entry bookkeeping to maintain accurate financial records.
- Implement and maintain accounting software systems, with proficiency in QuickBooks.
- Conduct account analysis and provide insights for strategic decision-making.
- Demonstrate technical accounting knowledge to address complex financial issues.
- Ensure proper debits and credits are recorded accurately.
- Lead and mentor accounting staff to achieve departmental goals.
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in accounting roles with increasing levels of responsibility.
- Strong background in technical accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in using accounting software such as QuickBooks.
- Experience with cash management, regulatory reporting, and account analysis.
- Knowledge of double entry bookkeeping and general ledger accounting.
