QUALIFICATIONS
1. Graduated from an accredited Professional School of Nursing
2. Current Illinois Registered Nursing License
3. Current ACLS and PALS certification
4. Willingness to obtain TNS or TNCC certification within 1 year of hire
5. Current CPR card
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
1. Collects current symptoms, as well as a detailed patient history and then consults and coordinates with health care team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care.
2. Performs triage, while considering both physical and psychosocial elements
3. Manages basic life support needs and stabilizes patients until the attending physician is available, based upon nursing standards and protocol
4. Initiates corrective action whenever information from monitoring equipment shows adverse symptomatology.
5. Records patient’s current vital signs.
6. Works directly under physicians, assisting during exams, diagnostic testing, and treatments.
7. Prepares, administers, and records prescribed medications. Reports adverse reactions to medications or treatments in accordance with the policy regarding the administration of medication by a licensed RN.
8. Provides IV therapy
9. Provides basic, bedside care.
10. Reports any suspected abuse to the appropriate agencies.
11. Initiates patient education plan, as prescribed by the physician. Teaches patients and significant others how to manage their illness/injury, by explaining: post treatment home care needs, diet/nutrition/exercise programs, self-administration of medication and rehabilitation, as well as provides referrals to other healthcare professionals for follow-up treatment.
12. Displays professionalism while completing multiple urgent tasks in a timely manner.
13. Records all care information concisely, accurately, and completely, in a timely manner, in the patients’ medical record.
Pay: $38.00 per hour
