Job Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Project Controls Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in document control, cost accounting, and scheduling within the utilities construction industry. This role is critical to ensuring project success by maintaining accurate documentation, managing project costs, and developing and monitoring project schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain document control processes and systems.
- Ensure all project documentation is accurately logged, distributed, and archived.
- Maintain version control of project documents and ensure timely distribution to relevant stakeholders.
- Assist in the preparation and distribution of project reports, meeting minutes, and other project documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company and client documentation standards and procedures.
- Monitor and manage project budgets, ensuring accurate cost tracking and reporting.
- Prepare and analyze cost reports, forecasts, and financial statements.
- Identify and report variances between budgeted and actual expenditures.
- Support project managers in developing cost estimates and budgets.
- Assist in the preparation of project invoicing and ensure timely submission to clients.
- Develop and maintain project schedules using industry-standard scheduling software.
- Monitor project progress and update schedules to reflect changes in project scope, timelines, and resources.
- Identify and communicate potential scheduling conflicts and delays to project managers and stakeholders.
- Prepare and distribute schedule reports, including critical path analysis and resource allocation.
- Coordinate with project teams to ensure adherence to project schedules and deadlines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project controls within the utilities construction industry.
- Proficiency in document control software and systems.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and practices.
- Experience with scheduling software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional certifications such as PMP, CCP, or PSP.
- Experience working with California electric and gas utility companies.
- Familiarity with project management information systems (PMIS).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
