Job Title: Korean Cook ( Korean and English Speaking)
1) Review menus prior to preparation of food.
2) Inspect special diet trays to assure that the correct diet is served to the resident.
3) Perform administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms, reports, ect. and submit to the Director of Food Services.
4) Coordinate food service with other departments as necessary.
5) Work with the facility dietitian as necessary and implement recommended changes as required.
6) Ensure that all food procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.
7) Assume the authority, responsibility and accountability of Cook.
8) Ensure the menus are maintained and filed in accordance with established policies and procedures.
9) Establish food service production line, etc,. to assure that meals are prepared on time.
10) Process diet changes and new diets as received from Nursing Services.
11) Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus.
12) Prepare and serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
13) Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures.
14) Prepare food for therapeutic diets in accordance with planned menus.
15) Prepare food in accordance with standardized recipes and special diet orders.
16) Prepare and serve bedtime snacks.
17) Be sure that appropriate equipment and utensils are provided with the resident’s meal tray.
18) Review care plans to assure that current food information is consistent with foods served.
19) Prepare and serve substitute foods to residents who refuse foods served.
20) Prepare food in accordance with sanitary regulations as well as our established policies and procedures.
21) Ensure that safety regulations and precautions are followed at all times by all personnel.
22) Assist in maintaining food storage areas in a clean and properly arranged manner at all times.
23) Dispose of food and waste in accordance with established policies.
1) One (1) year food experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related medical facility preferred (but not necessary).
2) Must be able to cook variety of foods in large quantities.
3) Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
4) Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
5) Must be knowledgeable of food procedures.
6) Must possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
7) Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.
8) Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, the appearance of work areas, and perform regular inspections of food service areas for sanitation, order, safety and proper performance of assigned duties.
9) Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level they are currently functioning.
10) Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing food practices.
11) Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
