Responsibilities: Commercial Solar Sales
The ideal candidate has sales experience and is a technically-minded, ideologically-driven, creative sales consultant that is customer and team-oriented.
- Pursue self-generated solar leads for solar photovoltaic and battery systems in person and via email, zoom or phone.
- Pursue your own leads through networking, attending events, generating referrals, B2B development and building references to support your sales role.
- Work closely with business and property owners and management to educate on the benefits of solar, develop interest and a working relationship with key people.
- Qualify leads and keep their information up to date.
- Create solar design proposals for customers.
- Meet with customers on-site to understand the property condition and review their proposal.
- Follow up with customers after the presentation.
- Create contracts for customers and walk them through financing as needed.
- Commit to providing the highest level of customer service and professionalism possible.
- Assist marketing department with targeting and outreach to businesses and residential demographics interested in solar for environmental or economic reasons.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate is familiar with the solar industry and has sales experience.
- 3-year experience in a relevant technical sales position.
- Proven ability to think creatively and strategically.
- Ability to provide a great customer experience.
- High integrity.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong computer skills.
- Successful candidates will meet the following requirements: 1-5 years of hands on renewable energy development, or rigorous project management that can serve as a proxy
- Bachelor's dress business, finance, engineering, or energy-related field preferredExperience in alternative energy development preferably in conceptual design of solar and/or battery storageExperience with financial modeling, energy project finance, and funding sources including the Production Tax Credit and Investment Tax Credit, Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) desiredUnderstanding of structured finance concepts, distributed energy project financials and operating performance metricsMaintaining a strong understanding of the regulatory and policy environmentsImpeccable attention to detail and a commitment to quality work productExtremely organized; able to manage a myriad of competing prioritiesHigh energy, responds well to pressure, works to deadlinesAbility to work on own initiative as well as with a teamProven communication and interpersonal skills necessary for community building internally, and trust building externallyMust have integrity, tenacity, and credibility complimented by a bias for action and a strong sense of personal accountabilityAbility to provide exceptional client service and demonstrate commitment to continuous learning in order to stay current on the energy industry and applicable finance strategies.Ability to work extended hours as needed, and the ability to travel including overnight as necessaryEligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.Compensation:Compensation package competitive and commensurate with experience.
