We are seeking a Research Director with a strong background in education policy, specializing in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), and an understanding of the causes of student and teacher attrition.
This role involves shaping the STEM policy agenda, driving policy solutions at both state and national levels, and ensuring a comprehensive understanding of STEM attrition and its impact on the supply of talent needed to meet future workforce demands.
Experience in K-12 or higher education policy research at the state level, with legislatures or other policymakers, is essential.
The ideal candidate will possess advanced skills in STEM policy analysis, excellent communication abilities, and a proven track record of designing, testing, and scaling new policy ideas.
We seek a strategic thinker who can apply their expertise to innovative STEM policy development and is adept at collaboration and portfolio management. A significant part of this position is dedicated to STEM data analysis, team leadership, including coaching, mentorship, and fostering a strong culture of inclusion.
Qualifications: PhD or Master's degree in public policy, public health, economics, political science, statistics, or related fields; experience working on research projects, preferably in an educational institution, policy organization, government agency, or research organization.
