Job Overview:
The Director of Sales position is responsible for account maintenance and growth with a book of existing customers as well as prospecting for new business that meets CTI’s objectives. They will be responsible for developing and deploying strategic sales plans based on overall company goals for growth and profitability. The Director of Sales reports to the Vice President of Industrial/Broadline Sales and will have assigned distributor accounts as well as manufacturers and restaurant chain accounts.
Responsibilities:
- Develop plans and strategies for further penetration of CTI’s customer base with other product lines not currently being sold to them.

Prospect, connect with, and make proposals to new retail, manufacturing, national restaurant chains, convenience, and non-commercial customers.

Research prospects, customers, and projects intensively to properly strategize our approach to win their business.

Manage information flow from customer to internal teams (project management, R&D, FSQ, pricing, planning, production) in an accurate and timely manner.

Employ market trend information, competitive intel, and industry knowledge to position CTI for customer satisfaction and maximum profitability.

Creatively contribute to the leadership team in the development of both tactical and strategic business plans.

Partner with other members of the sales team to share food show responsibilities and maximize customer interaction.

Attend production runs, plant tours, and customer presentations, serving as the main point of contact with the customer as much as possible.

Maintain industry knowledge by frequent participation in educational opportunities, industry networking events, customer training sessions, and trade shows.

Qualifications:
What we need from you:

7+ years of experience in sales account management of Industrial/Manufacturing customers, Buying groups, National Accounts, Distributors, Convenience, and/or Club store segments.

Must be located in the Texas market and willing to travel extensively throughout that region as well as nationally.

Experienced in prospecting and winning new business that meets our goals in terms of minimum volume, core capabilities, and profitability.

Experienced selling solutions within a business-to-business market and a track record of effectively creating a robust pipeline of marginable and profitable sales.

Experienced in the protein industry with an in-depth understanding of custom product proposals with long sales cycles.

Experienced working directly with product developers and innovators within their company and at the customers; experience selling cooked protein and kettle foods a plus.

A background working in a matrixed environment where creative thinking, relationship building, building consensus and open communications are important.

An understanding of customized food manufacturing including some acumen in safely, regulatory, quality and supply chain; reasonably comfortable with process and capabilities both in scale-up and batch production.

An energetic entrepreneur with mental agility, thoughtful personality, and strong executive presence.

An open-minded professional with leadership skills, persuasiveness, and the ability to articulate well, both verbally and in writing. Able to bring consensus to any negotiating environment.

Travel approx. 3 days per week or more as needed.
