Overview:
We are seeking a meticulous Quality Assurance Chemist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a background in laboratory procedures and quality control processes.
Duties:
· Testing and approval of manufactured products and factored products in line with the quality assurance objectives for the company.
· Sampling, testing, and release of incoming raw materials.
· Uphold and follow Quality Policies to ensure compliance with IATF 16949 certification and ISO 17025 accreditation.
· Maintain laboratory equipment to include assurance that instruments are calibrated according to external and internal requirements.
· Maintain sample stockrooms, laboratory supplies, tools, and other resources to assist in completing tasks.
· Assist in preparing reports and test certificates.
· Provide technical support to solve problems; support QA compliance and facilitate the release of First-Quality products.
· Communicate with various departments and salespersons as needed on projects.
· Revising and/or establishing laboratory instructions.
· Following and ensuring strict safety procedures.
· Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Experience:
The successful candidate should possess the following skills:
- General working knowledge of good laboratory practices and testing techniques.
- Ability to follow and ensure strict safety procedures.
- Ability to uphold and follow all organization and laboratory policies to ensure compliance with relevant accreditation standards.
- Ability to maintain clean and organized work area throughout multiple workstations.
- Familiarity with quality assurance practices used within the laboratory.
- Knowledge of the use of personal computers and their software to manage data and prepare reports.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify improvement opportunities.
- Strong ability to communicate at multiple levels within the organization.
- Ability to multitask and adjust the course of workload, as necessary.
- Ability to work independently and initiate minor troubleshooting, as necessary.
- Ability to assist in the preparation and minor modification of reports, test certificates, and working procedures.
- Ability to understand customer specific requirements and ensure results obtained are within specification.
- Ability to lift 5 - 20 lbs without assistance
Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, or related science, required. An Associate of Science is acceptable in correlation with relevant work history.
- Bachelor of Science, 0-3 years of work experience. Associate of Science, 3+ years of relevant work history.
