Position Summary
The MRO (Maintenance, Repair, & Operations) Buyer role is a key part of the overall production operations. As a member of the Purchasing team, the MRO Buyer position is responsible for all purchases pertaining to shop functionality, equipment, and consumables for all three Merrill Steel facilities. Other duties may involve material sourcing, data entry, cost comparisons, handling claims or material returns, as well as monitoring inventory levels.

Key Responsibilities
* Placing orders for production and maintenance operations from approved vendors.
* Manage inventory for various products and handle all claims, credits, or material returns.
* Receive materials and record material certifications.
* Negotiate pricing and dispute pricing discrepancies.
* Data entry and E-filing.
* Cross train with other team members for backup purposes.
* Be willing to do whatever it takes within company guidelines to meet department goals and deadlines.
Desired Experience/Education
* High school diploma or GED required, technical degree would be preferred, but not required.
* 1-5 years of experience in one of the following careers is preferred, but not required: Purchasing, Accounting, Inside Sales, or Shipping & Receiving.
* Familiar with Excel and Outlook.
* Experience with Accounting, Maintenance, Repair, & Operations (MRO), and Inventory software.
* Ability to think outside the box to improve team procedures.
