Betts Environmental is a drilling services contracting company that has served the Federal, State, and Commercial markets of the Environmental, Mining, and Energy & Infrastructure sectors of the Southeast for 30 years. We are a rapidly expanding business with our corporate office in Adel, GA, a branch in the Metro-Atlanta area, and a branch in Fort Worth, Texas, with additional locations coming soon. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who can partner with the Business Development team to help set the Company up for aggressive growth with great financial health. Betts is a privately owned, family atmosphere company of around 35 - 40 people but quickly growing.
You will be responsible for accounting close processes, monthly Journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations. The job responsibilities include but are not limited to; preparing journal entries accurately and timely for the monthly accounting close cycle; preparing reconciliations for balance sheet accounts; summarizing and interpreting accounting results, maintaining an adequate system of accounting records and ensuring consistent application and compliance with company policies, generally accepted accounting principles and local statutory requirements.

Your Challenge:
- Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and company policy
- Ownership of all preparer tasks for the assigned functional accounting areas, including accurate and timely preparation of journal entries and relevant supporting documentation.
- Prepare properly supported balance sheet reconciliations timely and accurately; investigate and resolve reconciling differences in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Maintain a focus on continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to increase efficiency.
- Create and maintain documentation of processes and procedures.
Your Expertise:
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with peers, and cross-functionally within the company.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks, Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Google Sheets, Google Drive, Google Docs
- Proficiency with online conferencing tools (Microsoft Teams, Google Meets, Zoom, etc.)
- Strong analytical and technical accounting research skills
- Highly motivated, detail oriented, deadline driven, and ability to communicate effectively
- Strong analytical skills
- BS/BA Degree in Accounting
- 1-3 years relevant Accounting experience preferred.
- Knowledge and experience with acquisitions, payroll accounting, intercompany accounting, fixed asset accounting and/or general ledger accounting.
