Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with behavioral health needs and developmental disabilities.
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address mental health concerns.
- Implement treatment plans and interventions based on evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy and applied behavior analysis.
- Monitor and document client progress, behaviors, and responses to treatment.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of client information.
- Assist with crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques as needed.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or mental health disorders.
- Knowledge of psychopharmacology and the ability to administer medication under the supervision of a licensed professional.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute to the overall treatment plan.
- Understanding of research methodologies and the ability to apply research findings to inform practice.
- Experience working with children is preferred but not required.
