Main function
Advanced Practice Provider will have their own clinic and schedule as well as assist the practice physicians as needed. The APP will independently exam, diagnose and treat patients with guidance from a physician if needed; may also assist a physician in the office or in surgery.
Duties and responsibilities
- Examine, diagnose and treat scheduled and/or walk-in patients and select appropriate follow up care.
- Review findings and treatment with physicians as needed.
- Conduct pre-operative exams on patients. Decide if clearance is needed from primary care physician or cardiac physician.
- Respond to questions and concerns from patients and other medical facilities.
- Monitor patients test results as ordered.
- Round on patients at the hospital for physicians.
- Other duties as assigned.

Required;
- Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with a post graduate degree from accredited college/university with current certification and state license.
- Proficient in the use of documentation and scheduling software, email, and Microsoft Word
- Pleasant and cheerful attitude and willingness to assist patients.
- Maintenance of continuing education credits and state licensure.
- Must have excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the necessary hours to get the job done.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively within and across teams and disciplines.
Physical Demands
- The employee is frequently required to stand, use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
- Adequate knowledge of computer usage and ability to tolerate viewing on computer monitors for extended periods of time is necessary.
- Potential exposure to radiation and chemicals is possible.
- The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
- This job is performed indoors in a medical office, hospital or surgical facility.
- The noise level is usually moderate.
Reports to: Clinic Director
Classification: Exempt. Generally exempt employees work 40 or more hours per week.
