Position Overview:
As a Montessori Classroom Assistant, you will work closely with our certified educators to create a stimulating and supportive learning environment for children aged 15 months - 6 years of age. You will assist in implementing the Montessori curriculum, guiding students in their exploration of materials, and fostering their social, emotional, and academic development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the lead Montessori teacher in preparing and maintaining a well-equipped, organized, and inviting classroom environment.
- Assist students in their exploration of Montessori materials, providing guidance and encouragement as they engage in independent and group activities.
- Foster a respectful and inclusive classroom community where each child feels valued, supported, and empowered to learn and grow.
- Observe and document student progress and behavior, providing feedback to the lead teacher and collaborating on strategies to support individual needs.
- Assist with classroom management, including maintaining discipline and ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times.
- Collaborate with other staff members and participate in professional development opportunities to continuously improve teaching practices and enhance the Montessori learning experience.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with children in a Montessori or early childhood education setting is preferred.
- A genuine passion for the Montessori philosophy and a commitment to supporting each child's unique development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Flexibility, patience, and a positive attitude, with a willingness to adapt to the evolving needs of the classroom and school community.
- A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in early childhood education or Montessori education is desirable.
