The Associate Director, Financial Reporting prepares and distributes periodic financial statements for users other than those directly employed by the organization. The Associate Director, Financial Reporting requires a solid understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across department(s).
The Associate Director, Financial Reporting ensures all reports and disclosures comply with applicable government regulations, professional standards and organization policies. Reviews journal entries and prepares/reviews financial account reconciliations in a timely and accurate basis for inclusion in internal and external financial statements. Decisions are typically related to identifying and resolving complex technical and operational problems within department(s) and could lead highly specialized professional associates.
This role will lead the following areas:

Investment Accounting – lead Investment Accounting area for month-end close and GAAP/SEC/Statutory reporting.

Health Plan Capital Management – this role will work closely with subject matter experts to gather data to forecast and plan dividend and capital contributions.

Legal Entity Projections – develop and support projections needed for Department of Insurance/service area expansions/new state licenses. Oversee projection process and seek to maximize the implementation of existing or supporting data from other teams.

Reinsurance Accounting and Reporting - oversee all reinsurance related activity and reporting.
Required Qualifications:

6+ or more years of technical accounting – understanding of accounting rules and concepts•

2+ or more years of management/leadership experience

Experience with Investment Accounting and/or experience with insurance accounting and reporting (GAAP or/and Statutory)

Ability to develop presentations and communicate with senior level audiences

Highly collaborative mindset and excellent relationship-building skills, including the ability to engage many diverse stakeholders and subject matter expertise
Preferred Qualifications:

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$123,800 - $170,400 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
