The Dining Room Manager assists our executive chef by assuming the day-to-day management responsibilities of dining room staff. Because servers at Rio Piedra play an essential role in the overall guest experience and are responsible for providing the highest level of service to all guests, a successful candidate will embrace our culture and demonstrate excellence in hospitality while leading and mentoring fellow servers.
This is a full-time position but only requires the individual to be on property between late-September and late-March. Off-season responsibilities are limited and provide flexibility for travel or other endeavors. Compensation is based on experience and includes proceeds from the server tip pool.
Job responsibilities;
- Ensure fine dining etiquette is maintained and food and drinks are presented properly
- Continuously demonstrate a commitment to genuine hospitality by providing warm, caring service
- Prepare and communicate waitstaff schedule- be available to address any staffing issues that arise
- Provide direction and guidance to servers to ensure an exceptional guest experience- lead by example
- Conduct training sessions as necessary with team members to ensure quality and consistency in all aspects of the dining experience
- Collaboratively seek ways to improve the guest experience and work with team members to incorporate service enhancements
- Work with the executive chef to coordinate back of house and front of house activities
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned station and service areas
- Assist in other departments as needed
Qualifications and desired skills:
- Strong organization, listening and communication skills; detail-oriented
- Exceptional interpersonal skills:
- Outgoing and genuine desire to create a personal connection with guests
- Ability to recognize when guests may want more or less interaction
- Genuine desire to understand and anticipate guests' needs and wants
- 3+ years managing and scheduling a dining room team
- 3+ years as a server in a fine dining establishment
- Basic bartending experience is a plus
- Wine knowledge preferred but not required
- Knowledge of proper food handling, food storage, and sanitation procedures
- Must have a valid driver’s license

Compensation and other perks:
Annual Salary: $45,000 + Gratuities
Season End Bonus: $10,000
Additional benefits: Health insurance is provided. Employee housing is available, includes utilities (water, gas, electric, internet) and costs $150/week. Our goal is for each team member to have their own bedroom. Meals are provided on those days/shifts that you are working.
