Clarke of Roselle, IL is seeking to hire a Mosquito Larvae Collection (Field Inspection) Technician who will be responsible for applying larvicide to mosquito breeding, in an effort to control mosquito populations. Hands-on training will be provided in all areas, no experience needed. This position is perfect for someone who is interested in public health, sustainability, learning different aspects of mosquito operations and enjoys working outdoors. WORK SCHEDULE AND SALARY
- Starting wage of $16/hr

Average of 40 hours per week

6:00 am to 4:30pm Monday- Thursday (Fridays as needed, end times may vary based on business needs)

Supports the summer seasonal operations (generally April - September)

Required to use company vehicles (if you live within an 8-mile radius of the office)

Depending on location/commute, personal vehicle may be used, and a .67 cent mileage reimbursement will be provided
QUALIFICATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF A FIELD INSPECTION TECHNICIAN
QUALIFICATIONS

Be 18 years of age or older
- Have a valid Driver's License with an excellent driving record

Self- motivated

Possess a high school degree or equivalent with high school level math skills
- Communicate effectively in English in both written and verbal forms
- Required to pass the Illinois Department of Agriculture General Standards Exam (training provided)

Comfortable walking through various and often challenging terrain such as uneven rocks, forested areas, fields, and areas of tall vegetation.
- Ability to work during the entire season (generally April-October)

Ability to work independently

Ability to remove all jewelry in compliance to company policy

Reliable personal vehicle (if applicable)

Provide proof of vehicle insurance

Have good physical dexterity and the ability to bend and lift up to 50 lbs.

Willing to learn other aspects of the company operations
RESPONSIBILITIES

Performed independently upon successful completion of training

Driving company vehicle (training required and provided)

Route and drive to potential breeding sites
- Inspect bodies of water, collect and label samples of mosquito larva

Apply treatment to positive breeding sites by hand
- Input field data into smartphone through company application (training provided)

Smartphone will be provided for navigation to work site, communication and logging daily work (training provided)

Should personal vehicle be used, duties will remain the same

Report to Roselle office at end of day
- Comfortable working in various and sometimes challenging terrain

Communicate with residents reporting standing water
- Other special projects
