POSITION SUMMARY
This position maintains production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment while complying with OSHA/MIOSHA safety procedures, rules, and regulations.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
- As directed by Maintenance Coordinator, ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.
- Assists in looking at diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications to solve problems and make decisions.
- Works closely with Senior Mechanic to locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listen for problems; use precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment.
OTHER FUNCTIONS
- Facilities and grounds maintenance.
- Preventive maintenance.
- Furniture upkeep and setup for new team members or department reorganizations.
- General housekeeping.
- Maintain 5S procedures and processes.
- This job may require overtime.
- Any other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-3 years in a maintenance position required.
- Experience working with or on a Safety program preferred.
- First Aid/CPR/AED/Blood Borne Pathogen certification preferred.
- Knowledge of accepted practices, processes, materials, and tools of the maintenance trades.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, chauffeur’s license preferred.
- Fork truck and scissor lift experience a plus.
- Basic understanding of electric motors, generators and pumps.
- Assist with routine mechanical or electrical maintenance and care for tools and equipment.
- Basic knowledge of quality assurance principles and Lean manufacturing preferred.
- Assist with working from sketches, drawings, and blueprints.
- Ability to lift over 25 lbs., bend, stoop, stand or walk for extended periods, and may be required to climb ladders.
- Excellent reasoning and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to take initiative, learn new skills and help team members.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $32.00 per hour
