Position Overview
Interprets work orders, architectural or engineering plans and prepares material lists and specifications to be used by Purchasing, Installation, and the Woodshop. Establishes installation standards by performing the following:
Essential Job Functions
· Measures for product to be ordered or produced from salesman’s work orders, contracts and site inspections
· Writes descriptions specifying material quantities and qualities
· Communicates with salesmen and customers to verify or correct customer orders based upon site inspection and general product knowledge
· Analyzes plan and diagrams, or observes and makes notes on material processing specifications
· Draws rough sketches or arranges for finished drawings or photographs to illustrate specified materials or assembly sequence
· Troubleshoots installation problems and recommends corrective actions
· May be the first to learn new techniques and then train other employee on these new methods
· May project manage large jobs and perform quality surveys of job sites
· Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
· Self-starter with a high attention to detail
· High-level knowledge of all phases of the construction industry
· Ability to troubleshoot problems and resolve them
· Initiative to identify and positively solve problems
Other Skills/Abilities
· Must possess a valid driver’s license
· Ability to use Microsoft applications, Word, Excel, and Outlook
· Must be able to download and print or manipulate photo files
· Must be skilled with all construction tools and processes.
Physical Requirements
· Must be able to lift and move up to 100 lbs. regularly
· Must be able to work from ladders and scaffolding or on lifts
· The work environment is a mix of fieldwork at customer sites, driving, shop work and office work.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $61,154.75 per year
