A Quakertown Plastics Company is looking for a Mold Setter/ Processing Tech on their third shift!
Sunday through Thursday 11pm-730am
MUST HAVE 3+ YEARS' EXPERIENCE WITH JOB SPECIFICS AND PLASTICS INDUSTRY
College Certifications with materials required
Mold Setting and processing experience with plastics
Knowledge of manufacturing industry required.
Perform mold machine set-up / start-up in accordance with the mold set-up sheet and shut down according to the mold change checklist, Processing parts to meet established acceptance test procedures (ATPs). When required, troubleshoot machine parameter settings to produce an efficient process for production of injected molded parts to ensure repeatable results. Operate controls on the various models of injection molding machine set-up including ancillary equipment as related to the molding process.
The principal duties and responsibilities of the Process Technician consist of, but are not limited to, the following:
Performs Injection Molding machine setups in accordance with the Mold Setup Sheet and Mold Change Checklist which describes setup information such as material used, peripheral equipment needed, tools used and the order in which they need to be completed.
Performs/Assists in all Injection Molding machine setups in accordance with the Mold Setup Sheet and Mold Change Checklist which describes setup information such as material used, peripheral equipment needed, tools used and the order in which they need to be completed.
Zero mold damage issues related to mold start-ups.
Gathers all related materials, fixtures and tools for new setup.
Raw material, Mounts, aligns, and secures tooling, attachments, and workstation on, in, or near machine.
Operates machine manually to ensure setup is complete and functioning properly.
Notifies Production Manager of the machine's status.
Assist in Start-ups and/or other duties as required by the Molding Engineer
Responds to Alarms throughout the day and adjusts machine controls to correct malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions.
Operates machine manually to perform non-automated functions and when automatic programming is faulty or machine malfunctions.
Discusses control media errors with Molding Engineer or programming personnel to resolve problems.
Post production, updates program storage medium with approved program changes as well as the Mold Setup Sheet.
Completely disassembles machine setup and related workstation, cleans all equipment, and places it back into storage.
Performs maintenance as directed by the Molding Engineer.
Prepares reports and documentation as requested by the Molding Engineer.
Work at different work stations as production requires.
Perform cleanup duties in job related areas ONLY.
Setup other machines as directed for production.
Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine.
Reports any requests for maintenance/repairs of equipment to Molding Engineer.
Reviews product rejected by Q.C. & adjusts machine process settings to improve product quality.
Interface with Q.C. department in a timely manner to ensure press settings are adjusted with minimum output of rejected product.
Any other activities/tasks assigned by immediate supervisor or Management.
Is present at all shift change huddles.
The Process Technician has the authority to train and direct production workers that require an operator to run the press.
Works safely and follows all safety and environmental guidelines as specified by Company
Works in accordance to all Quality Systems principles and standards.
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
EDUCATION:
Required: One-year certificate from college or technical school; or one-year related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must have knowledge of scientific injection molding principals.
