Manager of Outpatient Therapy
Job Description
Reports to: Director of Therapy Services
Type: Full-Time
Location: Elgin, IL
SUMMARY
Responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Outpatient Therapy and Community Mentoring services. This includes clinical supervision, direct service, and administrative responsibilities.

Clinical
- Responsible for reviewing client charts including LPHA responsibilities as defined in Medicaid Rule 132 and Rule 140.
- Responsible for networking with collaterals to improve clinical services and support the agency’s mission, vision, and values.
- Responsible for maintaining clinical documentation according to agency policy and procedures.
- Provide clinical and/or administrative supervision to direct reporting staff members including Outpatient Therapy Lead, Outpatient Therapists, Community Mentor Lead, Community Mentors, and Interns (herein referred to as “staff”)
- Responsible for being on call as scheduled.
- Be available for in-office emergency response as needed.
Administrative
- Facilitate monthly team meetings.
- Review and approve time submitted and requests for time off from staff and completed annual evaluations of staff
- Meet on regular basis with Director of Therapy services regarding issues and policies applicable to the Therapy Service programs.
- Responsible for hiring and training of new staff and providing on-going training.
- Meet on regular basis with supervisor regarding issues and policies applicable to the program
- Responsible for reviewing client charts including LPHA responsibilities as defined in Medicaid Rule 132, 140, and 141.
- Responsible for maintaining clinical documentation according to agency policy and procedures.
- Responsible for maintaining IM+CANS certification.
- Responsible for documenting and maintaining supervision notes for staff that include both clinical concerns and employee performance issues.
- Review and revise, as necessary, clinical forms and working procedures applicable to the program.
- Responsible for promoting collegiality at the workplace by working collaboratively with others.
- Monitor and support staff development. This includes completing performance reviews and documenting progressive discipline when it is taken.
- Responsible for arranging staff and duty coverage when using time off
- Attend workshops and training to keep clinical skills and knowledge current and to increase knowledge of program planning, evaluation, management and legal issues.
Community Relations
- Perform community education and speaking engagements.
- Be available to participate in fundraising/promotional activities sanctioned by our agency.
- Responsible for participating in job fairs and recruitment efforts as needed.
- Responsible for networking with collaterals to improve clinical services and support the agency’s mission, vision, and values.
TRAINING
- Responsible for completion of annual training requirements.
- Maintaining IM+CANS Certification
- Maintaining additional HFS requited trainings
- Responsible for ongoing training assigned by supervisor

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position supervises 10-15 subordinates.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONSIDERATIONS
- This job operates in a professional office environment and in the community. This role occasionally uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 20lbs.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This position is full-time, 37.5 hours per week. Some evenings required.
TRAVEL
This position requires light travel in Cook, Kane and Dekalb counties and occasionally to areas outside of that.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field is required. Clinical licensure in that respective field is also necessary. The ability to work with people from every diverse background and show cultural competency is a must. Experience working in community counseling related services and working with children and adolescents with mental health needs is desired. Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
