Job Description: Maintenance Technician
Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring that machinery and equipment are operating efficiently and safely. Their primary role involves performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and repairing equipment to minimize downtime and maintain optimal production levels. Maintain the grounds and the other jobs as needed.
Preventive Maintenance:
- Conduct regular inspections of machinery and equipment to identify any signs of wear, damage, or malfunction.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks based on a predefined schedule to prevent unexpected breakdowns.
Troubleshooting and Repairs:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues with industrial equipment.
- Execute repairs and replacements of faulty components to ensure the proper functioning of machinery.
- Repair Forklifts, Scissor Lifts and other Powered industrial equipment.
Installation and Upgrades:
- Install new equipment and machinery as per specifications.
- Perform Job Safety analyses on equipment before releasing equipment into the manufacturing process.
- Implement upgrades or modifications to existing systems to enhance efficiency and performance.
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and replacements.
- Document any changes made to equipment configurations or settings.
Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
- Identify and address potential safety hazards promptly.
- Use Lockout / Tagout on a regular bases.
- Coordinate with other maintenance personnel, engineers, and production teams to prioritize and schedule maintenance tasks.
- Communicate effectively regarding equipment status and maintenance needs.
Training:
- Stay updated on new technologies and advancements in industrial equipment.
- Provide training to other maintenance staff or operators on proper equipment usage and basic troubleshooting.
- Learn how to operate all equipment so we can repair while the operators are not available.
Emergency Response:
- Respond to emergency maintenance situations promptly to minimize production disruptions.
- Collaborate with other teams to address urgent issues.
Equipment Testing:
- Conduct performance tests on machinery to ensure they meet quality and efficiency standards.
- Make adjustments or recommendations for improvements based on test results.
Inventory Management:
- Maintain an inventory of spare parts and necessary supplies for routine maintenance and repairs.
- Coordinate with procurement for the timely acquisition of required materials.
Continuous Improvement:
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall equipment reliability and efficiency.
- Provide feedback and suggestions for process optimization.
