URGENT CARE PATIENT CARE COORDINATOR – JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Greet and check-in patients.
- Verify insurance eligibility; proper knowledge of Practice’s Fee Schedule.
- Ensure new patient registration is completed accurately.
- Manage patient records and properly document provided discharge information.
- Follow the copay collections process and ensure collection of payments from patients.
- Make each encounter smooth for physician and patient, resulting in best possible patient care.
- Answer telephone inquiries from patients, their families, or primary care physician's concerns regarding treatment, surgery, or related concerns.
- Answer any pharmacy-related calls or questions.
- Assist with other duties as needed.
- Assist physicians with procedures typically performed in a medical office.
- Room patients and obtain basic medical information.
- Record patient's medical history; and taking vital signs, weight, and height.
- Prepare exam rooms, including setting equipment based on the procedure or purpose of examination and keeping the rooms neat and clean.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Excellent communication skills and phone etiquette.
- Above average computer skills.
- A passion for teamwork.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology.
- Outstanding time management and organization skills.
- Empathetic of patient needs and concerns.
- Noridian, Availity, Scan experience.
Requirements:
- Medical Assistant Certification (preferred).
- 2 years of applicable experience
- EMR Experience (eClinicalWorks preferred)
Job Types: Part-time, PRN, Per diem
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
