Seeking an Registered Vascular Sonographer to join our team and will play a crucial role in the diagnostic imaging process by performing high-quality ultrasound examinations on patients under the direction of Physicians and other Advanced Practitioners. This expertise will contribute to the accurate diagnosis and treatment planning for various medical conditions.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Patient Interaction:
· Greet and prepare patients for ultrasound procedures.
· Explain the ultrasound process to patients, addressing any concerns and ensuring their comfort throughout the examination.
2. Ultrasound Imaging:
· Conduct ultrasound examinations, including abdominal, vascular, and other relevant studies.
· Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment to ensure optimal imaging quality.
· Adjust equipment settings to obtain the best possible images for diagnosis.
3. Data Analysis and Reporting:
· Analyze ultrasound images for quality and diagnostic value.
· Document and record findings in the patient's medical records.
· Collaborate with healthcare providers to review and discuss imaging results.
4. Communication:
· Effectively communicate with patients to obtain relevant medical history.
· Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to discuss imaging findings and contribute to the overall patient care plan.
5. Quality Assurance:
· Adhere to established protocols and procedures to ensure the accuracy and consistency of ultrasound examinations.
· Participate in quality assurance activities to maintain high standards of patient care and safety.
6. Education and Compliance:
· Stay current on advances in ultrasound technology and techniques.
· Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including maintaining credentials and participating in continuing education.
7. Team Collaboration:
· Collaborate with other healthcare team members, including nurses, and administrative staff, to ensure coordinated and efficient patient care.
8. Equipment Maintenance:
· Perform routine maintenance on ultrasound equipment and report any issues for timely resolution.
· Maintain an inventory of supplies necessary for ultrasound procedures.
Qualifications:
· Training in related in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related field.
· Current certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or equivalent.
· State licensure or registration as required.
· BLS – Basic Life Support certification.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
· Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient care.
Experience:
· Previous experience as a sonographer, preferably in a physician office setting.
· Familiarity with various ultrasound imaging modalities and equipment.
Working Conditions:
· The position may require standing for extended periods and occasional lifting of equipment.
· Exposure to infectious diseases and potential exposure to radiation, following safety protocols.
