SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Reporting to the Procurement Director, the Buyer assists in purchasing materials, supplies and services at the most favorable terms for 29th Street. Qualifies vendors, evaluates bids and negotiates prices and terms for goods and services. Tracks purchases, monitor inventory levels, oversees vendor quality and maintains all essential supplier information. Contributes directly to company goals and business objectives.

Manage purchase orders, oversee shipping schedules and maintain purchase records.

Perform vendor research and selection to enhance profitability, reduce operating costs and boost efficiency.

Conduct ongoing market research to identify beneficial purchase agreements and potential vendors.

Maintain working relationships with vendors and supervise vendor activities.

Communicate and negotiate with vendors and sales personnel.

Develop an effective and accurate system for monitoring purchase orders.

Deliver timely purchase order reports to managers.

Work closely with management team to ensure all deliveries satisfy the accuracy of assigned orders and report any back ordered or missing products.

Research, analyze and forecast current and future buying trends, markets, styles and products with attention to specified target market and demographics and provide guidance and recommendations to management for decision making.
