ESSENTIAL DUTIES in Maintenance Department (Maintenance Department Lead) (responsibilities include, but are not limited to):
l Managing a team of employees along with the Store Management Team
l Scheduling of employees (approving/rejecting time off request etc.)
l Placing daily/weekly orders with the guidance of the Store Management Team
l Computer skills (using spreadsheets, placing orders, making schedule, etc)
l Maintains cleanliness of work area, storage area, and selling floor
l Ensures a safe and secure work environment
l Clean and sanitize restrooms/bathrooms using established practices and procedure
l Clean, dust, and wipe furniture; sweep, mop, or vacuum floors; empty/clean wastebaskets and trash containers
l Replace light bulbs
l Refill restroom dispensers
l Assist with the setup of facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, events, etc.
l Strip, clean, buff and apply floor sealer and floor finish to hard surface floors, vacuum carpets
l Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools; buffers, auto scrubbers, extractors, high pressure washers, high speed buffers and vacuums, brooms, mops, and squeegees for cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls, carpets, furniture, etc.
l Wash walls and equipment; use ladders when required in work assignments
l Must clean and sanitize work areas
l Maintains good communication with Store Management/Department Lead, associates and suppliers/vendors
Customer Service:
l Providing excellent customer service, including greeting and responding to questions
l Engaging in suggestive selling and other sales techniques
l Meets or exceeds Department’s sales goals assigned through the efficient execution of Company policies and procedures
l Maintains cleanliness of work area, storage area, and selling floor
l Ensures a safe and clean work environment
Cross Training:
l Store Support Associates exemplify teamwork and are open to and willing to be trained and step in when needed in all departments and similar skilled areas for filling and development opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS:
l High School Diploma or GED equivalent
l Must be 18 or older to use sharp knives, use ladders, scaffolds or their substitutes, substitutes above 6 feet in height, and to operate or assist in operating power-driven machinery or equipment.
l Must be able to use job related equipment such as slicer, scale, saw, knife
l A minimum of 1-2 years of work experience in a similar work environment is preferred
l Experience as a Maintenance Lead is preferred
l Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds without aid
l Exposure to potential hazards exists with respect to equipment and work aides necessary to perform job duties. Hands are in frequent contact with water and various fruits and vegetables while performing job duties.
REQUIREMENTS:
l Able to deliver friendly, courteous, prompt customer service
l Able to read, write, and do simple math problems
l Able to interpret, understand and follow instructions
l Ability to effectively communicate and respond to questions from the general public and management
l Ability to interact with all levels of management
l Has or willing to obtain a CA Food Handler's Certificate

The Maintenance Department Leader oversees and manages all assigned department staff.
It is the role of the custodian to follow daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules but not limited to, the kitchen, office areas, bathrooms, storage areas, and entrances. S/he is responsible for applying basic fixes to equipment and building systems and ensuring facilities are tidy and functional.
