Job Description
The Program Leader is responsible for planning, developing, implementing and evaluating programs within a specific area, such as Education, Social Recreation, Arts & Crafts & Physical Education.
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities)
- Establish programs, activities and services that prepare Youth for Success.
- Create a Club Environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes.
- Over the provision of day to day program activities in accordance with established standards and goals.
- Ensure that members are encouraged to participate in a variety of program areas/activities and receive instruction and constructive feedback to develop skills in the program area.
- Demonstrate leadership to assure conduct, safety and development of members.
Program Development & Implementation
- Effectively implement and administer programs, services and activities for current members.
- Ensure the evaluation of club programs on a continual basis and ensures programs/activities respond to member needs and address their gender and cultural diversity.
- Control programs and activities expenditures within approved budget.
- Plan, develop, implement and evaluate programs, services and activities.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
- High School diploma
- Demonstrate knowledge or principles related to youth development; partnership development; and group leadership skills, including an understanding of group dynamics.
- Preferred- A minimum of one year experience in working with youth and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Group leadership skills, including an understanding of group dynamics.
- Demonstrate organizational, staff and project management abilities.
- Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications-Preferred
Hours are part time approximately 25 per week. Position is typically Monday thru Friday in the afternoons and evenings. Some holidays and weekends required. Hours may be more during teacher workdays and summer programming. Hours will vary from morning shift, to day shift to afternoons as we are helping students with virtual learning.
Salary: $10.00 - $14.25 per hour
