Sibus Treatment Services LLC, a private Medications for Opioid Use Disorder Outpatient Treatment Program (MOUD-OPT), is actively seeking full-time Substance Abuse Counselors to join our dynamic team. Position Overview:
As a Substance Abuse Counselor at Sibus Treatment Services, you will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive services to individuals diagnosed with opioid use disorder. In collaboration with fellow counselors, nurses, and program physicians, you will work closely to facilitate the holistic treatment and recovery process. Here are some key responsibilities of the role:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate clients' substance-related issues.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment and recovery plans.
- Identify factors interfering with the recovery process and address them effectively.
- Educate clients on coping mechanisms and strategies for overcoming addiction.
- Lead group therapy sessions to support clients on their path to recovery.
- Establish and manage support groups to foster a sense of community and mutual aid.
- Provide case management and coordinate care to ensure clients receive the right level of support.
- Assist clients in developing essential skills for employment and personal growth.
- Monitor and analyze clients' progress on their recovery journey.
- Collaborate with clients to plan for their discharge from our facilities.
- Develop crisis management plans for clients and intervene in emergency situations as needed.
Qualifications:
Our ideal Substance Abuse Counselors must hold certificate, credentials or licensure from the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists. We are seeking counselors with the following credentials:
- CAC AD (Licensed as an Board-Approved Supervisor)
- CAC-AD, CSC-AD, or AD-T
Additional Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of substance abuse and addiction.
- Proficient in developing comprehensive documentation.
- Enjoy working in a collaborative team environment.
- Positive and empathetic attitude.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient in using computers and clinical/patient management software; experience with Methasoft is a plus.
Position Types:
Compensation:
Compensation for Substance Abuse Counselors ranges from $19.00 - $35.00 per hour, based on individual experience, skills, and credential level. Compensation for individuals with higher licensure will be determined during the interview process.

Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 05:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- Weekends: Rotating schedule, Saturday only, 06:00 AM – 09:30 AM
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent, and higher education
Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of addiction counseling experience (Preferred)
- Substance abuse counseling experience (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- AD-T, CSC-AD, CAC-AD, LCADC LGADC, LCPC, LBSW, LMSW, LCSW (Required)
Work Location:
- On-site (Note: We are planning to implement remote work-from-home capabilities in the near future for group counseling and possible individual counseling where feasible.)
