The program welcomes students from 2.9 to 5 years old. At The Nest, our mission is to provide an early childhood education that meets the developmental needs of each child through joyful, hands-on, experiential learning in the natural world. Our nature-based curriculum integrates academics and social-emotional skills and inspires a love of learning and connection to the natural world.
We encourage children to take an active role in their school experience and we strive to nurture each childs intrinsic sense of creativity, curiosity, adventure, and wonder. Our teaching is grounded in learning that emerges from childrens interests and is based on their skills and needs. Through time spent outdoors immersed in nature, as well as through group and instructional time indoors, we provide effective and meaningful learning for children. Position Description: The Nest at Wheeler is seeking a qualified, dependable, substitute co-teacher to support classrooms when a teacher is absent.
In this role, the substitute teacher will support, teach, and guide a small group of young children through all activities of the school day alongside a head teacher. The ideal candidate possesses the flexibility to operate independently and as part of a team; have an engaging personality; and a genuine interest in working with young children.
