The Computer Science and Engineering Technology department is seeking a research assistant to provide assistance to faculty. The research assistant will be responsible for conducting a literature review, performing experiments, testing materials, analyzing results, preparing reports, and submitting a final report to a journal or conference. The role will primarily involve work in the concrete lab environment.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Strong understanding of the mechanics of materials and physics
- Proficiency in mathematics, particularly in areas relevant to the mechanics of materials
- Ability to conduct experimental research, analyze data, and draw meaningful conclusions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports and presentations
- Detail-oriented and capable of working independently as well as part of a team
- Prior experience in materials testing or related fields is preferred
- Enthusiasm for research and a willingness to learn new techniques and methodologies
