FSW’s Head Start/Early Head Start is a federal government program that was created in 1965 to give preschool children from low-income families a “head start” on their readiness for elementary school.
JOB SUMMARY:
Family Services of Westchester is looking for a full-time Home Visitor for our White Plains, NY Head Start program. We are hiring for multiple locations throughout Westchester County.
POSITION TITLE: Home Visitor
STATUS: Full-time/Permanent
SUPERVISED BY: Maria Pilco
PURPOSE: Home-based services offer home visits and group socialization activities for parents and their children.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establish a caring professional relationship with parents
- Asist parents in obtaining parenting skills.
- Ensure health and safety guidelines for children.
- Plan and develop with parents an individualized program for the family
- Work with parents to strengthen the families' knowledge of child development
- Support parents with problem-solving
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
- Must have a Child Development Associate (CDA) (Required)
