We are assisting our client, SUL4R-PLUS (S4+) with the recruitment and selection of a strategic Chief Financial Officer. SUL4R-PLUS is a subsidiary of the family office CEP Holdings Inc. The organization is made up of a tight-knit team of experienced operators fueled by growing and developing companies. Our team of leaders brings deep operational and financial experience to each company we invest in. Our focus is long-term, and our desire is to build, develop and work alongside quality management teams to create significant value.
This position is in-person and is located in Louisville, Kentucky.
The ideal CFO is a business leader who can see beyond spreadsheets and play a critical role in helping lead S4+ during a dynamic time. The CFO will be a key member of the executive leadership team and will play a pivotal role in shaping financial strategies and driving profitability. Over time, this role will expand to include financial oversight of all aspects of the family office, CEP Holdings Inc.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Financial Management
- Develop and execute the financial strategy in alignment with the company’s objectives and goals.

Provide leadership and guidance to finance team.

Lead the preparation of financial statements and operating reports, ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards.

Oversee and ensure timely and accurate processing of transactions and accounting data.

Regularly review financial statements and operating reports with the management team.

Assess organizational performance against budget with the management team.

Lead the development and implementation of policies and procedures regarding finance, accounting, and tax matters.

Remain knowledgeable and informed of the financial market and regulatory changes, advising leadership of changes and adjusts policies and procedures to maintain in compliance.

Manage the tax compliance and return preparation process with a CPA firm and collaborate with tax advisors to initiate and optimize appropriate strategies to improve after-tax cash flow.

Work with the management team to analyze investment opportunities and monitor operational performance.

Prioritize and manage multiple assignments and projects from various stakeholders to meet deadlines efficiently and accurately.
Investment Management
- Lead the financial modeling and due diligence process for potential investments.

Recommend optimal deal structure and lead discussions with all professional service partners.
Information Technology & Human Resources
- Manage a team of key outsource partners who provide the company with IT, HR, and ERP tools, ensuring our financial reporting platforms are robust and secure and we are hiring and retaining top talent.

Responsible for financial and operational systems and leverages technology to again cross company efficiencies.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related business field, master’s in business administration preferred but not required.

CPA license is required.

Minimum of 7 years of growth in corporate and/or public accounting environment, preferably in agriculture, manufacturing, or industrial industries.

Experience negotiating and structuring investment deals, including working with attorneys, bankers, accountants, etc., as well as assisting in financial and economic due diligence of prospective investment decisions.

Ability to provide financial leadership and oversight.
- Direct experience as a “hands-on” financial leader in a closely held mid-market operating company.

Proficient in GAAP and tax-based accounting and has managed the integrity of the balance sheet and P&L.

Capable of performing complex financial modeling in Microsoft Excel.

Exhibit high proficiency all Microsoft Office suite applications.

Proficient with federal, state, and local income tax compliance.
