Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated CT Technologist I to join our team. The ideal candidate will perform CT procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards, operating CT scanners and associated equipment with a high level of proficiency. This position requires a thorough understanding of radiologic technology and a commitment to patient care and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform CT procedures and operate scanners and associated equipment
- Verify and examine patient orders, addressing any discrepancies
- Prepare patients for procedures and obtain complete medical histories
- Administer IV contrast and document contrast type and amount
- Evaluate image quality and consult with Radiologists as needed
- Practice radiation safety and follow infection control protocols
- Assist in medical emergencies and perform life support measures as necessary
- Maintain work area and assist other medical personnel during exams
Qualifications:
- ARRT certification in Radiology or NMTCB for Nuclear Medicine
- Advanced registry from the ARRT in CT scanning within one year of hire
- Current CPR certification
- Graduate of an accredited two-year AMA and ARRT approved program in Radiologic Technology
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in Diagnostic Radiology or 1 year of experience in CT scanning
- IV and contrast administration certification before performing venous contrast administration
Physical Requirements:
- Moderate to heavy physical effort in lifting and moving patients, equipment, and supplies
- Frequent stretching, bending, twisting, squatting, or kneeling
- Use of radiation safety guidelines to prevent exposure to ionizing radiation
