DESE Research is seeking a Software Test Engineer to join our team in Huntsville, AL.
This position is 100% on-site in Huntsville, AL.
Responsibilities:

Develop, Modify and Run Test Procedures for end-to-end verification, Functional Qualification Test (FQT), and acceptance or validation testing.

Responsible for testing NSITE software application suite to ensure proper operation and freedom from defects.

Work on a small agile development team where success is defined by the ability to understand your path forward, effectively communicate that path, and complete the task inherent to that path in a timely matter.

Research advancements in software testing to help steer the product toward long term success.

Communicate with leadership and the customer to ensure a common understanding of requirements.

Document your work for the benefit of your teammates, the user, leadership, and posterity.

Develop Requirement Specifications (system, software and interface)

Trace requirements from Specification to test procedures.

Develop and Run Test Scripts.

Develop test plans, test schedule, and approach. Writes test cases and scripts and identifies data for test scenarios.

Performs verification activities on work products using defined methods, procedures and criteria with an appropriate verification environment.

Documents and communicates test results. Supports analysis of test results and resolution of open issues.

Report progress on problem resolution to management.
Required Education
-
Bachelor's degree and 1 or more years of experience working with software testing; Additional (6) years' experience can be accepted in lieu of degree (per contract vehicle).
Required Experience and Qualifications

Experience developing requirement specifications and tracing through all specifications to test.

Experience Testing and Writing Test Scripts and Procedures for DoD Systems.

Knowledge of modern software engineering practices, including Agile methodologies.

Ability to analyze a requirement, evaluate implemented software, and produce effective test procedures.

Experience with formal software testing.

Knowledge of formal software qualification processes and artifacts as well as experience creating formal test documentation.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance; US Citizenship required.
