Job Summary
The Assistant Project Manager will effectively manage large scale projects from design through completion. Responsible for assisting in managing, scheduling, quality control and remaining within budget while building strong customer relations.
Job Duties
- Responsible for proactive administration of reviewing and processing all submittal data and shop drawings to ensure project schedules are expedited and materials are delivered on time.
- Ability to assume responsibility, interface, and communicate effectively with others.
- Ability to initiate set up of job management system.
- Ability to initiate Trade permit process.
- Set up submittal register in accordance with project specifications.
- Coordinate the packaging, review, and processing of submittals.
- Provide customer or architect with periodic updates to the submittal register.
- Obtain the customer/architect's approval of the submittal register.
- Communicate details and requirements for the submittal process to subcontractors and suppliers.
- Develop and distribute RFIs.
- Ensure documents are up to date and accurate.
- Initiate PCO when drawing addendums are received.
- Overlay a new drawing issuance with previous set and provide list of changes.
- Record and distribute meeting minutes for subcontractor, coordination, and internal meetings.
- Prepare project-specific transmittal forms.
- Responsible for submitting owner required close-out documents and assisting subcontractors /suppliers in scheduling owner required training and documentation.
- Analyze and resolve work problems
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture preferred.
- Intermediate to advanced computer literacy, including experience in word processing, spreadsheets and other engineering software.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of project engineering experience.
- Knowledge of Procore, a plus.
- Strong knowledge of CAD Software is preferred
- PMP Certified is preferred
- Ability to work well with others under deadline situations and respond to changes in priorities.
- Good written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, set priorities and see projects through to completion.
- Employ problem-solving skills and analysis, and report problems to Supervisor, as necessary.
- Strong team orientation and relationship building.
- Knowledge of project structure in a construction environment.
- Valid Driver's License and method of transportation is required.
- Ability to complete and maintain accurate records.
- Ability to speak, read and write English.'
