The Revenue Cycle Manager advises executive-level management and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the revenue cycle process within the organization. This includes managing billing operations, optimizing revenue collection, ensuring compliance with regulations, and implementing strategies to improve financial performance.
Key Responsibilities:
**Billing Operations Management:**
- Supervise billing staff and ensure accurate and timely submission of claims to insurance companies, government payers, and patients.
- Monitor billing processes to identify and resolve issues such as claim denials, rejections, and underpayments.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve billing accuracy and reduce revenue leakage.
**Revenue Optimization:**
- Analyze revenue trends, payer contracts, and reimbursement rates to identify opportunities for revenue enhancement.
- Implement pricing strategies, fee schedules, and charge capture mechanisms to maximize revenue generation.
- Collaborate with other departments such as coding, compliance, and finance to optimize revenue cycle performance.
**Financial Reporting and Analysis:**
- Generate reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as accounts receivable (AR) days, clean claim rate, and collection efficiency.
- Conduct financial analysis to identify areas of improvement and recommend actionable solutions to senior management.
- Monitor revenue cycle metrics to track progress toward goals and objectives.
**Compliance and Regulatory Compliance:**
- Stay updated on healthcare regulations, payer policies, and billing guidelines to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures related to revenue cycle management following regulatory requirements.
- Conduct periodic audits and reviews to assess compliance and mitigate risks.
**Staff Training and Development:**
- Provide training and education to billing staff on coding updates, billing regulations, and revenue cycle best practices.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the revenue cycle team.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff to support their growth and development.
**Qualifications:**
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Finance, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- At least one year of demonstrated AthenaOne experience
- At least 5 years of experience in revenue cycle management, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- In-depth knowledge of healthcare billing processes, payer reimbursement methodologies, and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and identify trends.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in healthcare billing software and revenue cycle management systems.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Revenue Cycle Professional (CRCP) or Certified Professional Biller (CPB) are a plus.
**Working Conditions:**

- May require occasional travel for meetings, conferences, or training sessions.
