Third Shift Hours: 10:00pm to 6:00am
Job Summary:
The position is responsible for the beginning set-up and/or automation process for production, with emphasis on measures to increase productivity, efficiency, utilization. This position reports to the Production Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols at all times.
- Be proactive in addressing and reporting safety issues/concerns.
- Check Press specifications for ink, cores, film, plate cylinders, anilox, etc., to ensure all resources are needed and ready for current and upcoming jobs.
- Set up, operate, and maintain flexographic printing presses to produce high-quality printed materials.
- Maintain good and consistent quality print from start to finish.
- Identify defects and make all necessary adjustments to ensure product remains within specifications.
- Verify and maintain ink parameters (viscosity, match PMS, etc.)
- Ensure waste materials are discarded to their designated containers.
- Get all cores for job, install core first core in wind adjust viscosity, add solvent as necessary.
- May be required to perform other duties within the plant as requested or assigned based on production needs.
- Attend site safety or job training classes as required.
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate production schedules and ensure timely delivery of printed materials.
- Train press operator assistants while adhering to safety protocols and best practices.
- This position may require working weekends and holidays to meet production demands.
- Flexibility to work various shifts and overtime as needed.
- Maintain a clean work area.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong technical proficiency in press setup, operation, and maintenance.
- Thorough understanding of SQF requirements and quality processes.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot press malfunctions and perform repairs in a timely manner.
- Leadership in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a SQF qualified facility.
- Experience working with a variety of substrates, inks, and printing techniques.
- Knowledge of color management and quality assurance processes.
- Aim to maximize production performance and output while maintaining quality.
- Maintain and complete accurate production related paperwork and documentation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with individual at all levels of the organization.
- Experience driving a forklift truck preferred.
- Basic computer and calculator knowledge.
- Mechanical aptitude required.
- Good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
- Demonstrate ability to manage multiple tasks and demands.
- Knowledge of color management and quality assurance processes.

High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)

11. Balancing, maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces.
12. Crawling, moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet.
13. Pulling, using upper extremities to exert force in order to drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion
14. Pushing, using the upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward.

Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
