Ginger Cove is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician (Monday-Friday and weekend schedule rotation) to support our community. The technician is responsible for working in accordance with established policies and procedures, and/or specific instruction from the Director of Facilities or Maintenance Manager. Performs operational duties necessary to keep the physical structure and associated equipment of the campus in good repair. Conducts preventative maintenance, including routine and urgent repairs of electrical and mechanical equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Maintain all building mechanical, electrical, and other systems.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance as directed by Supervisor.
- Interact professionally with residents daily while performing tasks throughout the campus.
- Effectively maintain energy conservation program for area of responsibility.
- Participate in all property fire protection, safety, and evacuation procedures.
- Maintain all tools, equipment, and supplies in proper condition.
- Work in a safe and clean manner while ensuring equipment and building spaces are operating safely.
- Perform daily mechanical inspections in area of responsibility.
- Perform corrective maintenance on routine work orders within 48 hours of receipt.
- Maintain a 24-hour on-call personnel status for emergencies, rotating schedule.
- Attend in-service training and education sessions as required.
- Follow all local, state, and federal regulations as they pertain to the position.
- Adhere to the Organization’s policies and procedures regarding Privacy and Security in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- At least five years of hands-on experience in maintenance and/ or trades such as plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, refrigeration, ground maintenance, or masonry is preferred.
- Must have the ability to: read and interpret general business periodicals/ governmental regulations, blueprints and mechanical drawings, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively communicate with and respond to questions from groups of managers, residents, and the general public.
- Must possess concern, responsiveness, and tact when dealing with our senior community.
- Knowledge of fire safety, proper chemical handling and proper tool and equipment use.
- Must present self in a professional manner and strive to provide excellent customer service.
- Must have completed or be willing to complete educational requirements imposed by state regulations within the specified time frame.
- Proof of Covid-19 vaccination required.
