Job Summary: The quality technician is responsible for testing and inspecting products at varying stages of the production process and approves/rejects accordingly. This is a hybrid position that will include implementing a quality process, printing work orders, following parts through the production process from order entry to shipping and receiving.
Responsibilities:
- Conducts inspections and tests as required
- Able to read and interpret blueprints (dimensional location and orientation)
- Familiar with precision instruments (caliper, micrometer, height gauge, protractor, optical comparator)
- Ability to recognize a defective product, either visually or dimensionally
- Records results on production paperwork for future reference
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated detail oriented, self-motivation skills and ability to multi-task
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to speak effectively to either management, co-workers, or customers
- Recommends modifications/corrections to operators to achieve conforming product
- Familiar with product sample submission process (PPAP) and with capability studies
- Assists with problem solving, root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions
- Able to work effectively and safely in a manufacturing environment
- Experience working with an ERP system.
Qualifications:
- At least five (5) years of work experience in quality related field or educational training
- At least one (1) year of work experience in Shipping & Receiving.
