The personal trainer will be responsible for conducting orientations and fitness assessments of new and current members. The trainer will also be responsible for acquiring new clients and forming safe and effective training routines.

Explain and enforce safety rules and regulations for the use of exercise equipment.

Plan routines, choose appropriate music, and choose different movements for each set of muscles, depending on participants' capabilities and limitations.

Observe participants and inform them of corrective measures necessary for skill improvement.

Teach proper breathing techniques used during physical exertion.

Instruct participants in maintaining exertion levels in order to maximize benefits from exercise routines.

Maintain fitness equipment.

Monitor participants' progress and adapt programs as needed.

Provide students with information and resources regarding nutrition, weight control, and lifestyle issues.

Administer emergency first aid, CPR, wrap injuries, treat minor chronic disabilities, or refer injured persons to physicians.

Advise clients about proper clothing and shoes.

Promote Group Fitness Classes membership sales, and record member information.

Perform stretches to relieve soreness, strains.

Equipment Maintenance - - Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.

Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates - - Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.

Certification from a nationally recognized organization (ACE, NASM).

Current CPR and First Aid.

Able to work with clients of all abilities.

General knowledge of fitness.

work experience in a fitness facility preferred.
Special Considerations:

Requires flexibility of work schedule which may include days, nights and weekends.

Requires occasional lifting of heavy objects weighing up to 45 pounds.
