The Care Parent Network is seeking a dedicated Mentor Parent Coordinator: to join our team. In this role, you'll play a vital role in strengthening our Parent Network by identifying, training, and supporting parent mentors who provide invaluable assistance to other families within our network.
What is a Parent Mentor? A Parent Mentor is the parent of a child with a disability, who is teaching guiding and mentoring other parents of children with disabilities. The Mentor Program Coordinator: helps train and assists Parent Mentors to effective assist the families they serve.
What You'll Do:
- Train and equip parent mentors to effectively support their peers.
- Facilitate meaningful connections between mentors and families.
- Provide ongoing support, guidance and outreach to our dedicated parent mentors.
- Follow up with our network of parent mentors and requests for parent mentors
- Stay current on best practices for supporting children of all ages with disabilities. (Early Start, Lanterman, etc...)
- Contribute to the development of informative resources for families.
- Participate in community outreach activities and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Passion for family empowerment and advocating for children with special needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English and Spanish:.
- Experience conducting training sessions (in-person and virtual).
- Proficient in using computer software and maintaining databases.
- Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Prior experience working with families of children with disabilities is a plus.
- Prior history primary caregiving or parenting a child with a disability is a plus

Position Title: Mentor Parent Coordinator
Hours: :25 hours per week - Typically Daytime hours, though weekends and evenings may be necessary.
Location: Concord, CA : Also providing services throughout Contra Costa County
Compensation: :$24/hour PLUS Great Benefits!
