General Overview:
Injection Mold Set Up is responsible for machine startups, possible tooling changes/setups, and assuring that parts are made to quality standards. There will be troubleshooting of the individual machine and molding processes, some maintenance and minor repairs of the molds, possible setup of tooling/molds base on changes as applicable to insure a safe, clean, and efficient production environment, resulting in finished products that adheres to the quality standards of EcoWater Ripley, MS. The Injection Mold Set Up will assist the Process Tech in troubleshooting press problems on the shift with an understanding of the operation of molding and the capabilities to lead and train other employees in the functions of their respective positions in molding.
Overall Responsibilities:

- Reviews the daily mold change schedule.
- Relieves the operator as required.
- Inspects and maintains the molds, connections, and support equipment in good working order.
- Replaces hoses, connectors, and clamps as needed to maintain them in good working order.
- Works with and communicates with the Process Techs on mold change completion so they can then start the startup process.
- Assists the supervisor in developing and preparing standard set-up procedures and settings for the operation.
- Cleans out any residual parts left in or under the press, making sure there are no other parts left before the new mold has been set in the press.
- Cleans the excess oil and water off the press, slides, under the press and around the press on the floor.
- Wipes down the outside of the press to remove any residue left from hands, feet, etc.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate records and information regarding mold changes.
- Completes visual inspection of press/mold parts/support equipment as part of the PM process related to mold changes and notifies the supervisor of any faulty equipment or mechanical conditions, keeps the work area clean and orderly; and maintains equipment and tools in good working order.

Work Environment:

- May be exposed to plastic resin odors as a byproduct of the manufacturing process.
- May be exposed to heat in excess of 100 degrees as a result of press and inside temperatures.
- The employee is required to wear personal protective equipment outlined in safety policies, such as safety-toed shoes, safety glasses, cut resistant gloves, and heat resistant sleeves.
- Some exposure to shop elements such as noise, dust, fumes, odors, water, oil, grease, and heat or cold.
