JOB TITLE: Janitor

REPORTS TO: Housekeeping Supervisor

SUMMARY: This position is responsible for ensuring that the organization’s facilities are clean and well-maintained.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Cleans and sanitizes offices, meeting rooms, bathrooms, and other public areas.

Empties trash cans.
-
Mops and vacuums building floors.
-
Helps maintain and track inventory of supplies.
-
Arranges rooms for meetings and events.
-
Cleans snow and debris from sidewalk.
-
Maintains facility grounds.
-
Identifies areas of the facility that may need repairs and inform supervisor.
-
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Work additional hours as required to cover open shifts or complete project work.

Completed daily entry into department logbook.
-
Assist with laundry room duties as required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
-
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, licenses and registrations required:
-
Valid driver’s license required.
-
Other skills required:
-
Two years of janitorial experience preferred.
-
Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
-
Perform standard math calculations, i.e., add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
-
Maintain organized workspace.
-
Perform work duties with limited supervision.
