Searching for a DOT/OSHA Safety Manager to join our team. This position is an on-site position. The ideal candidate for this position has proven communication and problem-solving skills and a strong sense of urgency. This person has experience working with safety and compliance regulations, specifically directed by DOT, FMSCA, OSHA and other federal/state/local government entities.
This is a full-time position with a Monday-Friday schedule. This position will require light travel to our out-of-state location (no more than 25%/yearly). On-call after hours and on weekends for potential emergency safety situations.

Requirements:
-Proven experience in safety and compliance
-Proven management and leadership experience
-Strong written and verbal communication skills
-Expert knowledge and understanding of OSHA laws and regulations
-Expert knowledge and understanding of DOT and FMCSA regulations
-Knowledge of safety policies and procedures
-Strong organizational and multitasking skills
-Strong time management and sense of urgency skills
-Proficient Microsoft Office products
-Forklift certification preferred but not required
Responsibilities:
-Implement and audit safety protocols and programs to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations while attempt to prevent and reduce accidents, injuries and unsafe situations
-Identify and proactively address safety hazards and risks
-Perform regular mock OSHA audits to ensure consistency
-Manage and maintain accurate DOT files for necessary employees
-Communicates any OSHA, DOT, FMCSA and other regulation updates
-Communicates with and works closely to Senior Management
-Monitors driver alerts, violations and hours-of-services, and addresses them accordingly
-Regularly communicates and coaches drivers, warehouse employees and any other necessary employees regarding safety and compliance
-Manages accurate injury, accident and worker’s compensation reports
-Manage technology and software programs utilized to support and monitor safe practices
-Works with maintenance team to uphold equipment safety requirements
-Administer corrective action when necessary
-Works close with Human Resources Manager and Senior Management on recruiting efforts, specifically for DOT certified drivers
-Other safety and administrative tasks when necessary
