The primary purpose of the position is to provide assigned residents with routine daily nursing care in accordance with current regulations, established nursing procedures and as directed by your supervisors, to provide quality patient care on a consistent basis. responsible for providing resident nursing care, while delivering on the core values of wellness, compassion, customer experience and company results.
- Assume the authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary to carry out the assigned duties.
- Assist residents as needed with activities of daily living. This includes bathing, hair care, nail care, oral care, shaving, dressing, eating, pericare, assisting to and from bed, toileting, turning, transferring, lifting, changing when needed, etc.
- Bathe each resident according to schedule. Change bed linens completely on bath days, more often as needed. Clean showers and tub rooms thoroughly before and after each use.
- Make rounds regularly on each shift and assist each resident as needed, making sure they are safe, clean, and comfortable.
- Always respect resident privacy and confidentiality including all details of resident care. Refer all questions regarding patient's status to the Charge Nurse and all questions regarding operation of care center to the Administrator.
- Safeguard and use appropriately all resident belongings and appliances: hearing aids, eye glasses, dentures, clothing, personal property, etc.
- Escort residents to scheduled activities (recreational, religious, etc.) according to care plan.
- Bring residents to the dining area, serve trays, feed residents as needed, and provide assistance to those not totally independent. Pick up trays and replace in kitchen cart for depository. Document meal intake percentage.
- Perform restorative and rehabilitative nursing tasks as assigned. This includes turning and massaging bedfast residents every two hours, giving exercises as instructed, ambulating, toileting every two hours or as ordered or needed.
- Accurately document all duties performed on the appropriate records. This includes meal intake and snack charting, TPR & BP, weights, ADL’s, bowel movements, accident reports, etc.
Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant as required by state and federal law.
