The Role and Function of the On-Call Representative
The On-Call Representative is someone who is on call and ready to go to work at any time if needed, especially with short notice. This position is expected to be available Monday through Friday. The On-
Call Representative will be responsible as the Front Office Receptionist or CBC Customer Care
Receptionist.
The Positional Responsibilities – Front Office Receptionist
- Maintain confidentiality with customer phone calls and visitors.
- Welcome visitors by greeting and directing them appropriately.
- Direct visitors by maintaining employee and department directories.
- Maintain security by following school protocol, monitoring logbooks and issuing visitor badges.
- Answer multi-line telephone system, retrieve voice mail messages and route them as necessary.
- Prepare and distribute daily announcements.
- Receive and distribute the daily school mail.
- Assist Principals and Assistant Principals, notifying them when parents and visitors are waiting or requesting a meeting, contacting students to come to the office and other duties requested.
- Assist with late check-in or early dismissal of students.
- Maintain a safe, clean and decluttered reception area by complying with established regulations.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing requested tasks as time and duties allow.
- Record phone calls from parents of absent students.
- Assist parents and students as needed.
- Other duties as directed by management.
The Positional Responsibilities – Customer Care Representative
- Receive payments for tuition and lunch and post to appropriate accounts.
- Greet and assist Crusader Business Center visitors.
- Maintain confidentiality with customer phone calls and visitors.
- Assist customers with inquiries regarding tuition and billing, lunch, financial aid, volunteer hours.
- Maintain a safe, clean and decluttered area by complying with established regulations.
- Greet customers by phone and route to appropriate department area.
- Provide safekeeping of all forms of payments received and follow all established accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Coordinate scheduling requests for the Board Room and CBC Conference Room.
- Other duties as directed by management.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
A minimum high school diploma or GED. School office experience preferred. Must have a working knowledge of basic computer skills and office equipment. The ability to multi-task and meet daily deadlines. Experience in handling money transactions preferred. Possess excellent customer service skills, including troubleshooting and complaints. Work effectively and courteously with volunteers. Skills also include a pleasant attitude, knowledge of the schools.
The Mega-limitation
When representing Faith Lutheran Middle School & High School, the On-Call Representative shall not act in a manner that is unethical, imprudent, illegal or inconsistent with the Christian faith, the articles of incorporation, By-laws, policies or mission of Faith Lutheran Middle School
& High School.
Salary and Benefits
The On-Call Representative position is intermittently part-time and non-exempt with a pay rate of $15.00 per hour. Health and Retirement benefits are not provided. This position does not guarantee weekly work. The On-Call position reports to the Director of Accounting and the
Front Office Administrator.
In order to be considered for employment, candidate must be available Monday through Friday,
7:30 am – 4:00 pm at any given time.
