Are you a dedicated and detail-oriented professional looking for a part-time remote position? We are seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team and support our patients and team.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Assisting with the accurate and timely intake of patient data from area referral sources.
- Reaching out to patients to confirm key details of referral to match them with the appropriate care team based on type/urgency of condition and patient location.
- Scheduling initial appointments as needed.
- Maintaining positive and supportive relationships with key referral contacts.
-Required Skills:
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program OR twelve months of healthcare experience OR current Medical Assistant certification
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working within multiple software systems including EHR, EXCEL and Microsoft Office
- Follow all HIPAA guidelines and complies with annual training and understands and operates within the associated scope of practice of a Medical Assistant as outlined by company and state applicable guidelines
- Demonstrate our values In Interactions, empathy, and sensitivity towards patient/family rights
- Ability to attain basic competencies in operation of computer software Including scheduling programs, electronic health records, and computerized telephone system
- Demonstrate strong Interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication, and adheres to documentation expectations
- Other duties as assigned
- Consistently achieve the expected goals including but not limited to completion of assigned daily activities, schedule adherence, availability, appointment conversions, product knowledge, quality, and compliance.
- Responsibilities:- Provide high-level administrative support including managing calendars, scheduling appointments
- Assist in organizing and maintaining documents, reports, and correspondence.
- Handle incoming calls, emails, and inquiries with professionalism and discretion.
- Coordinate travel arrangements and accommodations as needed.
- Assist in project coordination by tracking deadlines, deliverables, and progress updates.
- Perform clerical duties such as filing, photocopying, and data entry.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
- - Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- This role requires excellent independent judgement and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information.
- Ability to use Excel
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, both in-person and on the phone.
- Previous experience with geriatrics preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail; able to maintain complete and accurate documentation of all patient related activities.
- Ability to build relationships and quickly develop trust with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to utilize positive problem solving in difficult situations and manage stressful situations (i.e. working with patients who may have severe and persistent health issues)
- Must be organized, detail oriented and the ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.
- Highly motivated, results-oriented with strong skills in customer service, organizing and multi-tasking.
- Ability to educate the patient on independent living skills with attainable increasingly aspirational goals.
- Ability to think clearly and act appropriately in an emergency or potentially dangerous situation.
- Ability to maintain an attitude of objectivity and open-mindedness concerning new approaches and methods.
- Flexible to handle fluctuating workloads and tasks.

Required Qualifications for the Remote Certified Medical Assistant:
- High speed internet, no dial up
- Personal phone
- Computer with the ability to have HIPAA compliant, secure connection database software program
- Home office environment in a private area with a door to comply with HIPAA regulations
- Uphold patient confidentiality and HIPAA laws at all times
- Experience working in a medical office setting
- Experience working with Electronic Health Record (EHR)
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
