Active Care is a sports medicine rehabilitation clinic whose mission is to get our patients back to sports, activity and life. We don’t do passive physical therapy. We believe that rehab should be active and challenging, and we practice that way. To get better, you need to sweat and burn. A lot of our patients are athletes, from middle school to professional, but an equal number are athletically-minded. All of them want to get back to a pain-free active life.
We are looking for team members that, despite the institutionalization of medicine, still see the potent value of private practice, individual care and the reputation of the company they represent and a drive to become an intimate member of the community they work within. Relationships and the willingness to go the extra mile to provide holistic and thoughtful care are the foundation of what we do and what we are looking for.
In sports medicine rehab, after injury or surgery, we have the opportunity to see patients for extended periods of time and to develop relationships that depend and rely on our personal work product, to bring patients from their post op or post injury state to the highest levels of function and “return to play”.
To do that, we are looking for thought and action leaders. We don’t have an algorithm. We don’t use pull down menus. We practice individualized care that assesses someone where they are at and brings them to where they want to go. Our focus still remains solidly on treatment, delivery of care and working with the patients.
Our physical therapists and athletic trainers combine dynamic and fast-paced clinical rehab with outreach at San Francisco high schools and colleges, and to San Francisco’s most prominent performing art companies. In both settings, athletic trainers will have the opportunity to use their skills to help local athletes and artists recover from injury and surgery.
Job responsibilities will include a mixture of clinical sports medicine rehab and ATC outreach services to high schools. Both settings will include working in an intimate fashion with the entire treatment team including administrators, coaches, MDs and the company physical therapists. An ability to “staff a training room” and be comfortable on a sideline/providing some game coverage is paramount as well.
The position is full-time with a competitive salary and full benefits.
