Duties Include:
- In collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team, conducts initial and ongoing patient assessment, analyzes assessment data, creates a plan of care, implements treatment and evaluates treatment effectiveness, administers medications in a safe manner consistent with Inova hospital policies and procedures
- Serves as point of contact for patients’ care coordination throughout hospital departments
- Acts as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement in the department
- Incorporates the professional practice model into care delivery
- Displays a courteous attitude and respect for all residents, families and staff
- Works to coordinate, oversee and provide residentrelated care
- Administers medications and/or treatments in accordance with physician’s orders and monitors for effectiveness/response
- Manages medications, supplies and equipment including ordering, receiving, storing and disposing of all items in accordance with policies and procedures
- Documents care using computerized medication administration and charting software
- Notifies Clinical Manager, attending physicians and family members of significant changes in a resident’s condition, and takes follow up action as necessary
- Monitors nursing personnel on duty during the assigned shift
- Perform additional tasks as needed
What You Will Need:
- Must have passed the New York State Nursing Licensure Examination (NCLEX)
- Have at least an Associate Degree in Nursing
- Current BLS from the American Heart Association.
