Educare of Omaha, Inc. is a collaborative partnership between the Early Head Start/Head Start, Omaha Public Schools and the Buffett Early Childhood Fund. Comprised of the two Educare Omaha Schools (Kellom and Indian Hill) and the three Early Learning Centers (Skinner, Gateway and Kennedy), the mission of Educare of Omaha, Inc. is to promote school readiness by enhancing the social and cognitive development of children ages 0 to 5 years through the provision of evidence-based education, health, nutritional, social, family engagement and other services to enrolled children and their families.
The Health Aide assists and supports the activities related to health services for children and families enrolled in the Educare program including Early Head Start and Head Start.
Schedule: This position is full-time, 40 hours per week, serving/traveling between both of our Early Learning Center's at Kennedy and Skinner. The schedule will be Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm with flexibility available as needed.

Reports to: Health Services Manager
Supervises: The Health Aide is a non-supervisory position.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Answer health related questions for students, families and teachers within scope of practice.

Assist with monitoring required health documentation including immunizations, Well Child Checks, and health screenings.

Perform routine screenings include vision and hearing.

Provide health related services including first aid to sick and injured students and while following protocols for exclusion and COVID-19.

Maintain accurate health office records, including student health records and immunization records by collecting, recording, and updating health related information.

Maintain accurate records for medication administration, special dietary needs, and Individual Health Plans.

Assist in the prevention and control of communicable diseases within the building.

Responsible for ensuring the Health Office is orderly and well supplied with proper equipment and other needed items.

Inform supervisor and School Director of student concerns such as health concerns, abuse, and neglect and contribute to the inter-disciplinary teams while maintaining confidentiality of information received.

Works with students and families to educate and provide tools on health and safety on topics approved by supervisor.

Attend meetings, workshops and training sessions as directed by supervisor.

Maintain confidentiality of student and family information as required under HIPPA and FERPA.
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent.

Certified Nursing Assistant certification required (CNA)

Experience working with families and children preferred.

Must be able to pass a background check that meets compliance standards.
