The Position
We seek a dedicated individual to join our team as a Financial Analyst. This role is crucial for maintaining the financial health and enhancing the profitability of our company.
Key Responsibilities
Operating Expense Tracking/Analysis: You will meticulously track and analyze operating expenses, identify trends, and recommend cost-efficiency.
Budgeting: Develop and manage detailed departmental budgets, ensuring alignment with company financial goals and operational plans.
Forecasting: Conduct regular financial forecasting, providing insights to influence strategic decisions and business planning.
Month-End Close: Play an active role in the month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
Ad Hoc Reporting: Respond to and fulfill ad hoc reporting requests, providing data and analysis that supports departmental and executive decision-making.
Analytical Insight: Provide analytical insights into day-to-day operations, identifying opportunities to drive department effectiveness and efficiency.
Profitability Initiatives: Engage in ongoing efforts to push profitability by analyzing current practices and suggesting improvements.
Financial Reporting: Participate in creating and maintaining regular financial reports that accurately reflect the company's performance.
Controlling Expenditures and Revenues: Monitor and control departmental expenditures and revenues, contributing to the company's financial discipline.
Budgeting, Forecasting, and Reporting: Assist in preparing, analyzing, and interpreting monthly reporting, forecasting, and budgeting data to support strategic initiatives.
This is a full-time position located at our offices in Downtown Manhattan. The role is accountable to the Senior Finance Manager.
The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in financial principles and a keen eye for detail. Reporting to the Senior Financial Manager, your work will directly contribute to our company's success by ensuring we remain on a sound financial path and identifying improvement opportunities.
Required Criteria
- Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting or equivalent experience
- 2-3 years of work experience in a finance organization
- Advanced knowledge and experience in Excel (V-lookups/Pivots)
- Positive attitude with a results-driven mindset and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and analytical, critical thinking
- High degree of accuracy with strong attention to detail
- Experience with SAP preferred
- Experience with Consumer Product Experience preferred
- Experience with Hyperion/Essbase/SmartView
